Louis with Sr. Constance of the Little Sisters of the Poor, who fought against the government’s HHS mandate

This Week in Washington, CMF CURO director Louis Brown met with a number of offices and coalition groups about the importance of (1) including the Hyde Amendment in the prospective new health care bill and (2) granting equal treatment in federal law for individuals and families that do health sharing.

These meetings included:

    • Meeting with the U.S. House Pro-Life Caucus
    • Meeting with the offices of various congressmen and congresswomen
    • Meetings with the Alliance for Health Sharing Ministries
    • Presenting on the Hyde Amendment and Health Sharing to the U.S. Senate Values Action Team (VAT) a coalition of Senators and national pro-life, pro-family, and pro-religious freedom groups,
    • Attending the Heritage Foundation/National Review Institute’s panel on the devastating impact of Physician Assisted Suicide (panelists included Sen. James Lankford, Kathryn Lopez (National Review), and Kathleen Domingo (Archdiocese of Los Angeles)

Take action now and ask your representatives and senators to require that health care reform include prohibitions on taxpayer funding of abortion, and give members of health sharing ministries equal access to HSAs, tax credits, and tax exemptions.
