One tier of the CMF CURO tri-fold mission is to protect and uphold the religious freedom and the right of conscience in health care by educating the White House, Congress, public policy thought leaders, and the marketplace. Led by the Christ Medicus Foundation, the team strives to educate the White House, Congress, and the general public about critical legislation and regulatory actions including the following:
- Protection of Conscience in Health Care – Learn about the legislation we are educating Congress on to uphold the fundamental rights of conscience and religious freedom in health care.
- Permanently Prohibiting Taxpayer Funding of Abortion – This legislation, supported by various members of Congress and advocacy groups in D.C., would enact the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funding of and use of tax-payer dollars for abortion.
- Federal Recognition and Protection of Health Sharing Ministries – CMF strives to educate Congress on legislative measures that would ensure health sharing ministries and their members are on an equal play field when they participate in health sharing options and not disadvantaged.
