Pope Benedict XVI spoke of the desires of the human heart when he said, “Happiness is something we all want, but one of the great tragedies in this world is that so many people never find it, because they look for it in the wrong places. The key to it is very simple – true happiness is to be found in God. We need to have the courage to place our deepest hopes in God alone, not in money, in a career, in worldly success, or in our relationships with others, but in God. Only he can satisfy the deepest needs of our hearts.” This Jubilee year, we are all invited to seek what is true, he who will satisfy our heart, the Divine Physician.
Hope in Relationship
At CMF CURO, we desire to walk with our members as they seek to flourish in union with God — in spirit, mind, and body. Our flourishing comes from intimacy with him who we are created for! This relationship is something we must continue to strive for throughout our lives and can be amplified and supported when we live in authentic Christian community. Our flourishing involves our personal healing journey; realizing the Lord desires to continually transform our heart onto his.

Since 1300, the Church has recognized special Jubilee Years, where the faithful are invited, more than ever, to return to the Lord. Inspired by the Jubilee Years found in the Old Testament, where slaves would regain freedom and land would be given back to its former owners, the Church invites all people to seek the true freedom found in Christ!(To learn more about the Jubilee Year, check out Fr. Mike Schmitz’s episode from the Bible in a Year) As Pope Benedict XVI remarked, we must look for the happiness to which God desires for us, not that which is found within worldly desires.

Our wellness coaches and spiritual directors are excited for the opportunity to walk with you as you seek to find your flourishing and wellness in he who desires to “satisfy the deepest needs of our hearts”!
Renewed Hope this Year
As Pope Francis told at the start of this year, “Everyone knows what it is to hope. In the heart of each person, hope dwells as the desire and expectation of good things to come, despite our not knowing what the future may bring. Even so, uncertainty about the future may at times give rise to conflicting feelings, ranging from confident trust to apprehensiveness, from serenity to anxiety, from firm conviction to hesitation and doubt. Often, we come across people who are discouraged, pessimistic and cynical about the future, as if nothing could possibly bring them happiness. For all of us, may the Jubilee be an opportunity to be renewed in hope. God’s word helps us find reasons for that hope.”
Let us join in this Hope, and allow Christ to radiate in our lives, as the true source of our flourishing and joy! Make sure to keep an eye on member emails, our NEW portal, and our CURO Membership Connect to find out first about our exciting opportunities!
